Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. Romans 11:22
Paul is writing to the Gentiles who have been grafted into God’s vineyard. He instructs them to not forget the kindness shown to them by the Lord. They to are to show kindness to the Jews who had turned away from God’s purposes as God has shown them kindness.
We must always remember the kindness and mercy shown to us through Jesus Christ. We were far off from God and He reached out to us and brought us into His kingdom. As we remember the kindness of God toward us we demonstrate our gratitude by expressing kindness to others. We live life knowing if it weren’t for the grace of God we would still be cut off from His fellowship.
Lord we give you praise and we are deeply grateful for the mercy and kindness shown to us as your children. We were cut off but now through Jesus Christ we have been made sons and daughters in your kingdom. Thank you Lord!
