Disobedience & Mercy

30 For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy.  32 For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.  Romans 11:30-32

The Jews chose disobedience and as a result God reached out to the Gentiles in their disobedience and showed mercy. We are all born into disobedience so that God may show mercy.

In Romans 5:8 Paul writes “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.  In our disobedience God reveals mercy and forgiveness. The love of God is not contigent upon our righteous but is seen in a greater way through our unrighteousness.   In our disobedience and sinfulness the mercy of God is seen clearly and He is glorified.

Lord we glorify and praise you for your great love and mercy has been poured out on us.
