“My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 7:1-3 ESV
The instructions of a kind father should be cherished by his children. We are to keep them as the apple of our eyes, bind them on our fingers, and write them upon our hearts.
The instructions of our Heavenly Father are to be cherished and remembered. As we read the Word of God daily let us enjoy the opportunity to read and hear his instruction. I have always heard it said that the difference between studying and reading is you have a pencil in your hand. When we write down the truths from God’s Word we transfer them from our head to our fingers, thus it goes deeper into our understanding. We also gain a better understanding of God’s Word and instruction by memorizing His Word, writing His commands upon our hearts.
Father I am grateful for Your instructions and commandments. May Your Word be planted deep in my heart so I may know more fully your desires and how I may bring you glory.
