“For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.”  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭26:20‬ ‭ESV

Without whispers, quarreling ceases.

Quarreling often begins in the whispers of others. Words spoken in a whisper have power to stir up trouble among individuals. Words like ..”did you hear about…; can you believe he did that…; let me tell you something about..”, can cause great harm to the reputation of others and can produce quarreling among people in the church.  Scripture makes it very clear that if we have something against our brother/sister we are to go to him/her with our grievance. Most choose the easier route of complaint about others to others rather than to the person face to face. How do we stop quarreling, by stopping the whisper.

Lord may I only listen to your whispers and not the whispers of others. Lead me to be the individual who uplifts others and is peaceable toward all individuals not one who stirs up quarrels through whispers.
