“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30 ESV
Charm and beauty can be a disguise but the true character of a woman is seen in her fear of the Lord.
Pick up any woman’s magazine at the grocery counter and the theme most prevelent is the emphasis on outward beauty and charm. What is not emphasized is the heart of a woman that reveals her true character. It is in a right relationship with her Creator that gives her the greatest strength and value. May we not push our daughters, wives, and the women around us toward a false beauty but toward a life of character found in Jesus Christ.
Lord may I not look for the character of a person by observing their outward appearance but on their inward qualities that come from a reverence for you and a desire to give you glory.
