God’s Glory Plan

Scripture

22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory. Romans 9:22-23

Observation

In the preceding verses we learn that  Pharoah, whom God expressed patience toward and held back from removing him from authority, was used to express God’s wrath and power.  Pharoah was placed in that role of authority so that at the right time God would display his glory when His people were released from captivity. God sets up the stage for His providential work to accomplish His redemptive plans.

Application

Whether in wrath or in mercy, our life is used for the purpose of bringing God glory. We want the greatness and power of God to be displayed in the details of our lives. We often look for the will of God for our lives rather than seeking the will of God and joining Him in His purposes. It is not in God’s will for us but in God’s will for His redemptive plans that He will be most glorified.  We are vessels for God’s use and we should yield ourselves to His efforts to make His glory known.  Whether in suffering or in pleasure it is all for the glory of God.

Prayer

Lord, use us for Your glory purposes.
