“Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.” Proverbs 8:10-11 ESV
Observation
Wisdom is more valuable than silver, gold or jewels. Nothing compares to her value.
Application
The value of wisdom is personified and more value can be found in her than in any other possession we desire. Silver and gold can fill our pockets but wisdom can fill our lives with joy and fulfillment. Possessions can take precedent over wise judgement and will leave us empty. Wisdom is of great value because she leads into a life of fulfillment and true prosperity. When we live life guided by wisdom we will discover the true riches we have in Christ.
Prayer
Lord may I value wisdom over riches. Give me the wisdom to know your ways and the path you lay before me.
